Since 2006, over 500 MW in solar PV will be installed and commissioned before the end of 2008; an unprecedented growth not seen in any other country in such short period of time.

In Spain, projects are larger in size than average projects in more mature markets such as Japan and Germany, implying sophisticated systems with bigger arrays of modules (strings), working at higher voltages and inverters with bigger conversion capacities. Equipments operate in the most demanding conditions.

Finally, the Spanish environmental conditions are also different with high irradiance, temperature and stronger winds, testing the design criteria, performance and operation models implemented so far.
